Bruno Cabrerizo plays the historical Brazilian coach José Carlos Bauer in the first feature film by António Pinhão Botelho. With production of Leopardo Filmes, “Ruth” is a film about the Portuguese metropolitan and overseas society in the early 60’s, the hitchhiker of the story of a young Mozambican footballer named Eusébio, predatory athlete of Sporting Clube Lourenço Marques, who sees himself coveted and hired by the rival club, Benfica.
In the film, Bruno Cabrerizo will appear in the footsteps of José Carlos Bauer, a fundamental element in the life of footballer Eusébio, advising his friend and former coach Bela Guttman – coach Benfica at the time – to hire the young man for the club.
“Ruth” premieres in theaters in Portugal on May 3rd. The film will also be released in Maputo.
