Actors Duarte Gomes and Miguel Mateus are part of the cast of TVI’s new fiction offering. “A Filha” is written by Patrícia Muller, produced by Maria & Mayer and project directed by António Borges Correia. Inspired by the media hit “Caso Esmeralda”, the 6-episode miniseries tells the story of a child who, after being adopted, finds himself involved in a legal battle between adoptive parents and his biological father.
In the plot, Duarte Gomes is Fábio, a real estate agent who dreams of being a footballer. He is known within his group of friends as the ball playboy, a nickname earned thanks to his good physical shape and romantic conquests during adolescence and early adulthood. He regularly plays football with his friends and work colleagues and it was in this context that he met Paulo (José Condessa). He is married and has a son to whom he wants to forcefully instill a taste for the great sport, but the boy did not inherit his father’s talent. He doesn’t mind being the center of attention and strives to be funny. It’s sexist and xenophobic.
Miguel Mateus is Dinis, an insurance broker who would love to have a more unpredictable life. He works at an insurance company where he fights every month to be the broker with the most sales commissions. He often succeeds, but the frustration of not having a life with more adrenaline still leaves him with a bitter taste in his mouth. He crosses paths professionally with Fábio and meets Paulo at football games with friends. Sometimes he liked to swap skins with Paulo, just to feel the adrenaline of having his stability at risk. He quickly changes his mind when he realizes the complexity of the “Renata Case”.
