Actor José Leite is one of the stars of the show “The Swimming Pool Party” by Ricardo Neves-Neves. On stage at the renovated Teatro Variedades until October 27, the play unfolds from a mysterious murder that occurs during an extravagant end-of-season party at the theater. Among friends and family, to the sound of bossa nova and involved in superficial and presumptuous conversations, the atmosphere changes, and a deadly outcome occurs. With a group of despicable and hollow characters, the story develops in a game of “whodunit”, where the true identity of the killer emerges unexpectedly. In this work by Ricardo Neves-Neves, the famous inspectors Hercule Poirot or Maigret are not needed to solve the crime. The causes are deeper, and the ending promises to surprise and astonish the audience.
