Chris Murphy, born in the UK in 1976, trained as an actor at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Institute in New York and the Drama Center in London. Living in Portugal for several years, Chris built a solid and diversified career on the national artistic scene. In cinema, he stood out as the villain in the adaptation of the book “Uma Aventura na Casa Assombrada”, one of the biggest box office successes in Portugal. He has also appeared in films such as Francisco Manso's “Assalto ao Santa Maria”, Valeria Sarmiento's “As Linhas de Wellington” and most recently in Patrícia Sequeira's “Bem Bom”, a biopic of the iconic portuguese girlband “Doce”. On television, he was part of the cast of outstanding productions, such as the telenovela “Belmonte” (TVI), nominated for an International Emmy, and appeared in “Jogo Duplo” (TVI), “Alma e Coração” (SIC) and "Flor Sem Tempo" (SIC). He was part of the international series “Mata-Hari”, a co-production between Portugal and Russia, and the Netflix documentary “The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann”. More recently, he was part of the cast of the series “Homens de Honra” (RTP). In 2013, he starred in the award-winning promotional spot for QueerLisboa Festival.
